Court records show Jesse Gil, 46, bonded out after being charged with possession with intent to promote child pornography.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A former firefighter arrested earlier this month on accusations of possessing child pornography has bonded out of the Nueces County Jail as his case moves through the court system.
Court records show Jesse Gil, 46, has been charged with possession with intent to promote child pornography, a second-degree felony in Texas. The case was filed June 16 in the 105th District Court and remains in pre-file status.

According to court records, Gil appeared for a magistrate warning June 17 and requested an attorney. A court-appointed attorney was assigned that same day. Records also show an order imposing conditions of bail pending trial was signed by Gil on June 22.
A Corpus Christi police probable cause statement says officers arrested Gil while assisting with an arrest and search warrant at a home along the 5400 block of Kitty Hawk Drive. Police said Gil was taken into custody on an active warrant for possession of child pornography. His bond was initially set at $100,000.
The arrest affidavit details how the investigation began. Investigators with the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received multiple CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Detectives began looking into reports involving a Kik Messenger account that had allegedly uploaded child sexual abuse material. According to the affidavit, investigators later obtained a search warrant for the Kik account and a subpoena for IP address information connected to that account.
Investigators said they reviewed files tied to the reports and found what they believe depicted child pornography. Records returned from the messaging service also included chat logs detailing the alleged trading of child sexual abuse material, along with images that helped investigators identify the adult male as Gil.
There is no word yet on when Gil’s next court hearing will be.
