EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A motorcyclist was injured in a crash after a pursuit involving a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper near I-10 in east El Paso, according to preliminary information.

Investigators said a DPS trooper attempted to stop the motorcyclist for a violation near Cotton and I-10 eastbound, but the rider did not stop, and a pursuit began.

The pursuit ended when the motorcyclist crashed after evading under the overpass at Lomaland and Gateway East, officials said.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene for reported injuries that were described as not life-threatening.

The investigation was ongoing, and no additional information was available.
