Man, brother face multiple charges after West Side crash

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man and his brother are facing charges after a crash on the West Side on Monday.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the crash happened around 8 p.m. at Culebra Road and Westwood Loop, just west of Loop 1604.

Witnesses told police the driver ran off to a nearby Valero gas station, and after he was found officers tried to detain him. Police say the 35-year-old suspect resisted, but was eventually arrested. A few officers ended up with minor injuries.

A 41-year-old man identified as the suspect’s brother was pushed away by officers as the initial arrest was made, but the brother would also end up in handcuffs.

The suspect was eventually charged with DWI, resisting arrest, and assault on a peace officer. The brother was charged with interfering with public duties.
