EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A truck snagged a power line, causing a power outage that affected nearly 3,000 customers on Friday, June 26, in Northeast El Paso, a spokesperson said for El Paso Electric.

The incident happened near Woodrow Bean and Girl Scout Way, causing 2,892 customers to be without power, Jacob Reyes, a public relations specialist for EPE, said.

The call of the power outage came in at around 1:43 p.m.

He also said that crews are working to restore service as safely and quickly as possible.

“At this time, 297 customers remain without power as repairs are still underway,” Reyes said.

This comes after over 4,000 customers were without power in far East El Paso on Tuesday, June 26.
