Some “Friday Night Lights” stars are spending part of their summer visiting five cities to mark the 20th anniversary of the series’ premiere, and San Antonio is one of them.

The event, which is presented by Plex and ATX TV, takes place July 16 at the Park North Alamo Drafthouse.

The acclaimed series, which ran from 2006 to 2011, centered on high school football players and the community around them in small-town Texas.

Adrianne Palicki, who played Tyra in the show, will host the evening. Stacey Oristano, who played Tyra’s sister Mindy, also will appear, as will Derek Phillips, who played Billy Riggins. Oristano and Riggins will screen and talk about their favorite episode: “Tomorrow Blues,” which capped the third season, and included their characters’ wedding.

The evening also will include a Q&A.

Tickets will be available starting today at plex.tv/friday-night-lights-roadtrip.

San Antonio is the second city on the tour, which kicks off July 9 in Dallas. Other stops are July 21 in Los Angeles, Aug. 25 in New York and Aug. 28 in Kansas City.
