EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Downtown El Paso was filled with color and celebration Saturday morning, June 27, as El Paso Sun City Pride held its 19th annual Pride Parade.
The parade stepped off at 10 a.m. in Downtown El Paso, starting at 700 E. Mills at the corner of N. Ochoa Street. Organizers said the event brought together local organizations, performers and supporters for a morning focused on love, visibility and pride.
The streets were lined with the colors of the rainbow as guests cheered and waved their pride flags as the parade performers passed.
For parade participants, such as Ashley Alvarez, seeing the turnout of the community celebrating pride meant something significant.
It’s really heartwarming just seeing everyone coming out together. It’s all different communities coming together for one common goal, which is celebrating love—celebrating pride.
After the parade, guests gathered at Houston Park for a post-parade picnic. The family-friendly event included free music, food, nonalcoholic drinks and drag performances.

At 3 p.m., Sun City Pride will be continuing the celebration from 3 p.m. through 11 p.m. as they light up Downtown El Paso with the Neon Pride Fest.
The festival will be a stage set for several drag performances and DJs playing nonstop music.
