After suffering its first losses of the season, Texas volleyball dropped to No. 4 in the latest national poll conducted by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
The Longhorns (18-2, 10-2 SEC) picked up 1,303 points after losing Friday to No. 6 Texas A&M 3-2 and getting swept Sunday at home against No. 2 Kentucky. Nebraska, the only undefeated team left in the nation, picked up all 61 first-place votes from the AVCA voters.
Texas did get some good news in the NCAA’s RPI rankings. The Longhorns remain No. 2 behind Nebraska based on an impressive list of wins against eight teams currently ranked by the AVCA, including No. 5 Stanford, No. 7 Louisville and No. 8 Arizona State.
Texas resumes SEC play Friday at Florida.
