El Paso police investigate after body recovered from Mission Valley canal

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso police are investigating after a body was recovered from a canal in the Mission Valley area Sunday afternoon.

KFOX14/CBS4 was referred to the El Paso Police Department for information by the El Paso Fire department around 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the Mission Valley Regional Command Criminal Investigations Division is handling the body recovery.

The scene is near Alameda Avenue and Fresno Street in the Mission Valley area of El Paso.

Police have not released any additional information, including the identity of the person or the circumstances surrounding the recovery.
