If you’ve visited the Shops at La Cantera recently, you may have noticed lots of storefronts blocked off with those curiosity-sparking covers teasing the store to come. Or maybe you haven’t been in a while — in which case, your next trip will probably look pretty different.

Here’s a roundup of everything new that has landed at La Cantera since the beginning of 2026, and what we know is still on its way amid a slight slip in the national rankings. Plus, a new shopping center across the way is taking shape.

Stores and sweet treats debut at La Cantera in San Antonio in 2026

The latest store to open at La Cantera is engagement ring and jewelry showroom Brilliant Earth, which settled in across from Kendra Scott. However, a handful of stores have made their entrance since January, beginning with the new Coach store and FP Movement, Free People’s activewear offshoot. Both stores came late in the month, Coach near LUSH and MAC Cosmetics, and FP Movement moving in close to La La Land Kind Cafe and Brandy Melville.

Meanwhile, Pinto Ranch, a luxury Western brand from Houston, opened in February. Its addition joined Tecovas and Lucchese for boots and cowboy style offerings at the mall. Also in the footwear lane, Rothy’s made its entrance in May, replacing Steve Madden’s budget-friendly styles with sustainability.

Part of what landed La Cantera so high amongst the nation’s shopping centers is its open-air shopping experience and lush greenery. However, the San Antonio heat makes it a struggle to be outside during the summer, so refreshments like ice cream and other sweet treats are a plus. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams satisfies that need, recently opening in front of Sephora and Pacsun and packing unique flavors. And in a rapidly-transforming leg of the mall, Amornio Gelato brought Italian sweets like gelato macarons, shakes and more in mid-January.

Crate & Barrel is opening this fall in the massive former home of Forever 21, which closed in 2025 as the company declared bankruptcy. The new furniture store will bring trendy and modern touches for shoppers, comparable to Pottery Barn and West Elm. Across the street, Arhaus is taking over the former Urban Outfitters space, which shuttered in January as it prepared to jump to North Star Mall. Arhaus is yet another home furnishing store but has a bit of a kitschier flair.

Herman Miller, which specializes in home and office decor, will make yet another addition to the lineup in that section of the mall, taking over Soft Surroundings next to Urban Outfitters. And for those looking to upgrade their sleep, a filings reveal that a Purple mattress showroom is on the way. According to the filing, work will begin in July and wrap up in October.

Back to the apparel and cosmetics scene, Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana filed for a La Cantera location early this year. The filing reveals that work on the $1.9 million store will begin in June and wrap up in October, though details aren’t set in stone. That makes a second location for the iconic brand, as it already calls North Star Mall home.

Another filing reveals plans for Jo Malone London, which is known for its perfumes, colognes and other scented cosmetics. The $400,000 location will likely make its debut in early 2027, though work is set to begin late this year. In the meantime, shoppers can expect a new and improved L’Occitaine store this summer.

Lastly, one of La Cantera’s most highly anticipated openings is for SKIMS, Kim Kardashian’s shapewear line taking shape near Alo Yoga and Tecovas. It replaces Vineyard Vines and will bring everything from bras and underwear to catsuits, lounge wear, tees, bags and more. It even offers a selection for men as well. La Cantera teased the opening in early June, saying it’s “officially on the way,” though an initial filing sets a late September completion date.
