A San Antonio-area restaurant with decades of experience has served its last seafood platter in the Texas Hill Country. Over the weekend, LaFour’s Restaurant in Boerne announced that it has permanently closed after 43 years, following a final service on Saturday, June 27.
With its Cajun recipes, LaFour’s Restaurant garnered a dedicated customer base over its lengthy run. Five generations of the LaFours family helped establish and maintain the concept. Originally based in Kerrville, the Cajun seafood eatery moved to Boerne in 2024, where it has remained.
“Friends, after 43 years, it’s officially time for us to retire. We have been blessed in these decades to raise our children and grandchildren with you and yours and build so many phenomenal friendships along the way,” the business said in a Saturday evening Facebook post.
Over the years, LaFour’s Restaurant kept its menu stocked with seafood classics such as fried shrimp, fried catfish, crab cakes with Béarnaise sauce and shrimp and grits. The restaurant’s Cajun influence was evident in dishes like red beans and sausage, boudin balls, shrimp gumbo and various po’boys. LaFour’s also offered beignets with caramel pecan sauce and powdered sugar.
“We have spent so many years with late nights, early mornings, a lot of stress, and ultimately, this is an industry that takes its toll on time, health, and family,” the business said in its farewell post. “Thank you for all the memories!! We couldn’t have asked for better customers!”
