A man with a machete was allegedly shot and killed by his neighbor in Fort Worth Sunday, police said.
Officers responded to the 2900 block of Ross Avenue at 10:20 p.m. for a reported person with a weapon, Fort Worth police said in a news release.
Police said they found a man shot after they arrived.
The shooting happened after the man and an adult woman argued and fought, police said. Witnesses told police the man was dragging the woman down the street with a machete in his hand, according to the release.
Neighbors heard the woman screaming for help, police said. A resident then came outside and confronted the man. As the resident told the man to stop, the man approached the neighbor with the machete, police said.
The neighbor allegedly shot the man at least once, police said.
Witnesses called 911. The man who was shot was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The resident who shot the man stayed at the scene and was interviewed by homicide detectives, police said.
No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting as of Sunday morning, according to the news release.
