Five-star wide receiver recruit Eric McFarland has committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. The five-star committed to Texas A&M over the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators. Both remained in the mix for McFarland until the end

McFarland is one of the top wide receivers in the class of 2027. The talented recruit could emerge as a star during his time at Texas A&M next season. McFarland is an elite route runner with excellent speed and athleticism. McFarland took an official visit to Georgia on May 15, but the highly coveted prospect decided Texas A&M was the better fit.

McFarland could have played an essential role on the Dawgs’ offense next year if he had committed to Georgia. He is the sixth-ranked WR and the 38th player overall in the 2027 class on the 247Sports composite. McFarland has been a star at IMG Academy High School, and the route runner is the fourth-best player in Florida.

Georgia has commitments from a handful of talented receivers in the 2027 class. Four-star WR Jamir Dean recently flipped his commitment from Penn State to UGA, and three-star WR Taurean Rawlins has committed to Georgia, too.
