Texas will host Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M in Moody Center. Its road trips include matchups against Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. Dates and times will be revealed at a later date.
Southeastern Conference play begins Jan. 2 and ends March 6 before the SEC Tournament starts March 10. Texas’ nonconference schedule begins Nov. 8 with Louisiana-Lafayette and includes challenging matchups against Virginia, Duke and UConn.
The Longhorns underwent a massive roster overhaul following their first season with head coach Sean Miller, which ended in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. With former star forward Dailyn Swain now a Chicago Bull and the loss of a few seniors, Miller dove into the transfer portal. Texas added former St. Mary’s guard Mikey Lewis, former Auburn wing Elyjah Freeman, former Tennessee guard Amari Evans, former TCU power forward David Punch and former Colorado guard Isaiah Johnson for the fourth-ranked transfer class in the country according to 247Sports.
Texas also went international, adding Lithuanian guard Mantas Laurencikas. The Longhorns’ freshman class includes a trio of freshman guards in McDonald’s All-American Austin Goosby, Bo Ogden and Joe Sterling.
