Seattle-born big-box store Costco is set to open two new warehouse locations in the Lone Star State this summer, according to its “Coming Soon” page. Where are these fresh locations landing? Here’s what to know about Costco’s Texas expansion.
Both incoming Costco outposts are reportedly set to debut in Texas by August 2026, with one store sprouting in Celina while the other makes its way into Mansfield. Each location has been in the works for about a year, as investors filed regulatory paperwork to commence work on the “new construction” projects last summer, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
In Celina, the new Costco will open at 3445 South Preston Road, about 40 miles north of Dallas. Regulatory filings submitted in August 2025 show the warehouse is expected to span roughly 158,000 square feet, with construction costs estimated at $18.5 million.
Meanwhile, Mansfield’s incoming location is planned for the northeast corner of Lone Star Road and FM 917, about 13 miles south of Arlington. According to project filings from last July, the warehouse will cover more than 157,000 square feet and carry an estimated construction cost of $19.5 million.
Additionally, two more Costco outposts debuted a little closer to home this year — including one in Austin-are suburb Liberty Hill, as well as another in New Braunfels. With four new Texas locations opening this year alone, Costco’s footprint in the Lone Star State just keeps getting super-sized.
