EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person is dead following a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle on Sunday, June 28 in East El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department.

As KTSM 9 News previously reported, the crash happened around 9 p.m. on Interstate 10 East and Yarbrough.

Preliminary investigation revealed that 29-year-old Ricardo Dominguez was traveling eastbound on I-10 on his motorcycle at a “high rate of speed.”

The driver of an unknown vehicle, who was also traveling east, made a lane change and struck Dominguez. The vehicle involved in the crash has only been identified as being light-colored.

The vehicle fled the scene and Dominguez was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. On Monday, June 29, the Medical Examiner’s Office contacted the El Paso Police Department Special Traffic Investigators to inform them that Dominguez had died.

EPPD’s STI unit continues to investigate the crash.

This is the 24th traffic fatality this year compared to 30 this same time last year.
