Chick-fil-A has plans to open eight restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2026 in about six months, nearly all of them in the suburbs northeast and northwest of Dallas and Fort Worth.
A ninth restaurant, in the town of Hillsboro, between Fort Worth and Waco, is expected to open this summer as well.
The fast-food chicken chain reports in a statement that Dallas-Fort Worth is “one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing regions in the country.” The sentiment matches a long-lasting chain restaurant trend North Texas, where companies take a bulls-eye approach in Dallas-Fort Worth by expanding in rings from the center of Dallas or Fort Worth to surrounding suburbs.

Chick-fil-A’s first restaurant opened in a mall in Atlanta in 1967. D-FW got its first Chick-fil-A in 1977, at Fort Worth’s Ridgmar Mall.
By 2023, the company had ballooned to 3,000 restaurants total, marked by the opening at the Shops at RedBird in Dallas.
The company operates about 150 Chick-fil-As in Dallas-Fort Worth today.
