Five new Plano establishments include Yang Smokehouse, Big Mike’s Bar & Grill, Darbar by Lyari and Yo! Bowl.

We recently published a list of 20 restaurants that have opened in Plano in the past year, and that number was far from all-inclusive. It seems new restaurants are opening every day, and we’ve got the scoop on five new recently opened or coming soon.

Yang’s Smokehouse

240 Legacy Drive

On June 26, Yang’s Smokehouse celebrated a ribbon cutting at the former Friendship BBQ space in the Legacy Jusgo shopping center. According to the restaurant’s website, the brand started in 1980 with Grandma Yang’s recipes that led to six locations in China. Now, her youngest daughter carries on the traditional smokehouse in Plano.

The menu serves up BBQ skewers. seafood, ribs and unique dishes like pig brain.

Big Mike’s Bar & Grill

3200 Alma Drive

The New York natives, Jennie and Mike recently moved to Texas and opened a family-friendly restaurant and sports bar. Big Mike’s serves burgers, sandwiches, salads, steak and pub appetizers. A brunch menu is available on weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fun fact: Jennie was the star of Mama Medium, a TLC reality show about Jennie, who describes herself as a fourth-generation medium.

Darbar by Lyari

2040 W. Spring Creek Parkway

According to a recent TDLR filing, reported by WhatNow, Darbar by Lyari is a Pakistani restaurant that may be connected to Lyari Cafe on Harry Hines in Dallas. The restaurant is set to complete construction in August.

Agha Juice & Cafe already has two locations: one in Carrollton and one in Houston. The Plano location, which opened this week, will also serve snacks, sandwiches, Mexican dishes, faloodas, kulfies, golaganda, shakes, smoothies and juices.

4701 W. Park Boulevard

Fellow Carrollton joint Yo! Bowl is opening a Plano location near Preston Towne Crossing in the former Soulard Gyro space. Yo! Bowl serves build-your-own noodle bowls, house-made yogurt and $5 specials. The restaurant is expected to open in the first half of July.
