LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Red Raider Outfitter is making sure Texas Tech tradition rolls into Saturday when ESPN College Gameday returns to Lubbock.
For fans, operations manager Lauren Spiegelberg said things are starting to feel like the late 2000’s again. On top of that feeling, Red Raider Outfitter is celebrating 50 years in business.
“I was actually here at Red Raider Outfitter for the 2008 gameday bonanza I like to call it,” Spiegelberg said. “For us, it’s starting to be that same buzz and that same excitement. With our guests coming through the stores, we’re all talking about how nervous we are this Saturday, how excited we are, and we have the confident fans coming in saying it’s absolutely our year. For us, it’s that same buzz and same excitement coming through.”
With ESPN making its first trip to Lubbock in 17 years, Red Raider Outfitter is stocking up should Red Raider fans choose to head to the Green Space for the show on Saturday morning.
“It has been sometime since Gameday has been back and obviously it is our season for them to be back, so we do have our College Gameday shirts ready to go for Saturday morning.”
A new collection is also in stock as Texas Tech released the all-white Too Cold collection featuring Patrick Mahomes’ logo. From the gameday shirts to the frosty long sleeves, Red Raider Outfitter is stocked up with merch for anyone in Lubbock this weekend.
“For Patrick Mahomes to come visit, it’s so exciting, it means so much to this fanbase,” Spiegelberg said. “He’s so busy in Kansas City doing what he’s doing right now, but for him to come back to his alma matter and be able to support is so exciting and I know this fanbase just lights up for him.”
