LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec will continue serving as U.S. regional vice president of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education board after completing his first two-year term in the role.
In the position, Schovanec represents member universities across the United States, shaping international higher education policy and partnerships and creating opportunities for research and collaboration. His work includes continued engagement with university presidents across Latin America and the Caribbean, including Colombia and Costa Rica.
His new term will run through 2028.
Texas Tech professor Elizabeth Trejos-Castillo was also re-elected as U.S. regional executive secretary of the organization.
