San Antonio is saying goodbye to another familiar TV personality this month after just one year of seeing her on our TV screens. Fox SA and News 4 Live Desk morning anchor Emma Allen announced her “bittersweet” departure to social media on Wednesday, July 1. She first joined the local stations in June 2025, coming from KATV in Arkansas to lead the stations’ breaking news coverage in the mornings.
“After an incredible chapter in San Antonio, I’m excited to share that I’ll be heading home to Arkansas to join KATV (again) as a Broadcast Meteorologist in Little Rock,” Allen wrote on Facebook. “If you had told me a few years ago that I’d leave Arkansas to chase my dream, learn from an amazing newsroom in Texas, and then return home to forecast the weather for the state that raised me, I don’t know if I would’ve believed you. But here we are.”
Allen is currently pursuing a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University and said in a post back in January that she’s on track to finish the program this summer. That coincides with her move to covering the forecast in her home state, “the state that first made me fall in love with weather,” she said.
Still, Allen said leaving San Antonio is “bittersweet” because the city “became so much more than just a place I worked. It became home.” In the post, she thanked her colleagues at both stations for their friendship and warm welcome, which she’ll “carry with me forever.”
“I honestly don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as I have with all of you,” she wrote. “You made the early mornings something to look forward to, turned coworkers into lifelong friends, and made a city hundreds of miles from home feel like home. Being away from family meant missing holidays like Christmas and Easter, and those days weren’t always easy. But you never let me feel alone. You invited me to your homes, included me in your celebrations, and reminded me what kindness and community look like. I’ll never forget that.”
She also thanked viewers who trusted her with the news every morning.
“It has truly been an honor to tell your stories and be a small part of your day,” Allen wrote. “Now, it’s time for the next chapter- one that feels like a full-circle moment. Arkansas, I’m coming home.”
Allen’s last day on air is Thursday, July 2.
