Miyako Hybrid Hotel promises rooftop dining, a Japanese bakery and a unique fusion of Japanese hospitality
Plano’s hospitality scene is preparing to welcome a hotel unlike anything else in Texas. Expected to open in late 2027, the Miyako Hybrid Hotel Plano will bring Japanese-inspired luxury and the renowned tradition of omotenashi — Japan’s philosophy of thoughtful hospitality — to the heart of Legacy.
The 12-story boutique hotel will be the first Miyako Hotels & Resorts property in Texas and only the third in the United States. Developed by Japan’s Kintetsu Group, the hotel represents another milestone in Plano’s growing relationship with Japan and its expanding reputation as an international business destination.
A Hotel Designed Around East Meets West
True to its name, the Miyako Hybrid Hotel blends Japanese craftsmanship with Texas hospitality. The 217-room hotel will feature 11 suites, including the signature Imperial Suite, while public spaces are designed to create a seamless balance between refined Japanese design and modern Texas comfort.
Guests can expect amenities including:
A traditional Japanese restaurant
A Japanese bakery
A rooftop bar and dining experience with panoramic views
An upscale lobby lounge and bar
More than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space
Luxury guest rooms and suites, including the signature Imperial Suite

Years In The Making
The project has been several years in the making. Momentum accelerated after Plano approved economic incentives to help bring the internationally recognized hotel brand to the city, recognizing both its cultural significance and long-term economic impact.
Plans for Texas’ first Miyako Hybrid Hotel were unveiled in 2024, introducing a concept that blends Japanese elegance with modern Texas hospitality.
Construction officially began after developers broke ground on the project, and the hotel remains on track for a late 2027 opening.

The Miyako Hybrid Hotel is more than a new place to stay, it’s another symbol of Plano’s longstanding relationship with Japan.
