A San Antonio tattoo shop is working to bounce back after an extreme act of vandalism that left the business tattered as of Wednesday, July 1. Community support quickly followed, bringing a number of helping hands to the Northside establishment.
CFS Tattoo Company was forced to close on Wednesday after the San Antonio shop was broken into overnight by a woman who was shown on surveillance footage breaking into the property and destroying decor, tools, furniture, and more. Videos of the act and the subsequent damage were shared on social media by artists who work for CFS Tattoo Company.
Tattooer Morgainne Campos shared a now-viral reel on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, showing the extent of the vandalism, which affected every employee of the shop. The video also showed several employees and others coming in to help clean up the mess.
“If you wanna support us, the best way is to book with us and make sure we can recover from this incident,” Campos wrote in the caption of the reel.
MySA reached out to Campos via direct message, who said that CFS Tattoo Company has received “lots of love and support” from the community. We also contacted the San Antonio Police Department about the incident and received a brief report describing the event as a burglary. The report identified an unnamed 24-year-old woman as the suspect in this case, but it did not confirm whether an arrest had been made. SAPD’s investigation is ongoing and subject to change.
