Ferris Wheeler’s in Dallas

It is, in fact, the end of an era. Ferris Wheelers Backyard & BBQ announced via social media that after eight years, is ready for something new. The space, which was an entertainment venue, barbecue spot and sports bar, is ready for a new phase.
From the announcement on Facebook:
“Over the years, we’ve been lucky to feed thousands of guests, host incredible artists, and work alongside a team who brought this place to life every single day. Ferris Wheelers was never just a restaurant — it was a labor of love from everyone who made it happen, from pitmasters and bartenders to the bands who turned our backyard into something electric.”
They also note economic pressures, combined with ongoing permitting and infrastructure challenges, were persistent issues. Patchwork work on the building would no longer suffice.
The dining room closed on Nov. 3 to begin renovations immediately; however, the backyard will remain open this week and continue to be open for the duration of the remodel, including The Infamous Stringdusters concert on Nov. 8.
After Saturday, Nov. 8, they will shift to hosting concerts and special events only.
New Leadership
Annette Marin and Matthew Harber of Spune Productions — which promotes concerts at Club Dada, Granada, Tulips in Fort Worth and others — will take over the space and introduce the new concept. They will share more details in the coming weeks.
The space was previously part of This and That Hospitality (Double D’s and Tiny Victories).
