Isolated to scattered storms could bring a brief chance of rain to parts of Dallas-Fort Worth late Sunday afternoon and early evening after another hot summer day.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth says an upper-level disturbance will bring a 20% to 30% chance of storms Sunday afternoon across parts of North and Central Texas. Storms are expected to spread from north to south, meaning areas north of D-FW could see activity first.
The best chance for storms in D-FW is expected after 4 p.m. and into the early evening. Many areas may stay dry.
Severe weather is unlikely, but stronger storms could produce gusty winds, frequent lightning and localized heavy rain.
Sunday will otherwise stay hot, with highs near 100 across D-FW. Some areas could reach the low 100s.
After 4 p.m.: Storm chances begin developing north of D-FW.
4 to 7 p.m.: Best window for storms to move into or near the region.
After 7 p.m.: Storm chances should quickly decrease, with mostly clear skies expected overnight.
Another round of isolated to scattered storms is possible Monday, with rain chances around 20% to 40% across parts of North and Central Texas. Better chances appear to be south of D-FW.
Highs Monday are expected to stay near 100.
Typical hot summer weather is expected through the middle of the week, with highs in the mid-90s to near 100.
