HOUSTON – Two of Texas’s 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders have been apprehended following their recent arrests in separate locations.
Derrick Van Flowers, 44, was captured in Houston, Texas, on Oct. 8 after a traffic stop conducted by Texas Highway Patrol Troopers.
Flowers had been wanted since April 2025 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
He was previously convicted in 2008 for the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl and again in 2010 for failing to comply with registration requirements.
In a separate incident, Spencer Mandell Giron, 48, was arrested in Lake Charles, La., on Oct. 9.
The arrest followed a coordinated effort between the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division Special Agents from Beaumont and the Lake Charles Police Department.
Giron had been wanted since June 2025 for similar registration violations.
His criminal history includes a 1998 conviction for aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl, resulting in an 11-year sentence, and a 2017 federal drug offense conviction, which led to four years of confinement.
Authorities confirmed that no Crime Stoppers rewards will be paid for these arrests.
