A man was shot and killed during a fight at a Fourth of July party near Lake Arlington on Saturday night, Fort Worth police said.
Officers responded to the reported shooting at 8:18 p.m. in the 5900 block of Wilbarger Street, according to a news release. Police said a large gathering was happening at the scene of the shooting.
Fort Worth police said a fight started between two men who were arguing over a woman. Both men pulled out weapons and shot each other, police said.
One of the men died at the scene, while the other was taken to a hospital. Police said his condition is unknown.
The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office will identify the man killed, police said.
A 911 caller initially reported multiple people were shot at the scene, according to a police call log. Dozens of police units and ambulances responded. Helicopters were seen overhead.
The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident between people who knew each other.
There have been no arrests made in connection with the shooting, police said.
