San Antonio police are investigating what lead to the death of a man after he was found inside a portable bathroom on July 4.

The San Antonio Police Department went to the 500 block of Castroville Road at about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 4 for what is being called an apparent sudden death, according to a preliminary report. Officers arrived at the scene and after finding the man inside the portable bathroom were able to confirm his death. The man, according to the report, was 61 years old. 

The San Antonio Police Department said in the report it is currently unknown what led up to the man arriving at the location and eventually dying at the scene. Police added that there were no signs of foul play at the time the report was made. The 61-year-old man has not yet been positively identified. There is still an “active and ongoing investigation” into the man’s death, and information is subject to change depending on the results of the investigation, police said. 

There is no additional information on how long the man may have been in the portable bathroom or any other connections related to his death.
