NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – Vona S. Reasoner, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Mount Olivet in the Breyley Suite. Vona S. Reasoner, was born on December 18, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Emory and Unavay Harris. A spirited and deeply loved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Vona was a true Texan with a vibrant soul. She grew up with a strong spiritual foundation at Scofield Bible Church in Dallas. Later in life, alongside her beloved husband, John Reasoner, with whom she shared 43 beautiful years of marriage, she attended and served in several Baptist churches throughout the DFW area. To know Vona was to know a true “spitfire.” She was fiercely her own person, possessing the rare and wonderful gift of being able to tell you exactly what she wanted and how she wanted it, all while remaining perfectly gracious. A wonderfully crafty and adventurous woman, she loved the simple thrill of getting in the car and driving without a destination, just to see where the open road might take her. Above all her hobbies, music was her true passion. Singing was simply in her blood. No matter which church she and John attended over the years, Vona made absolutely certain to find her place in the choir. Lifting her voice in song was the one thing her soul loved to do more than anything else. Vona was preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Unavay Harris; her devoted husband, John Reasoner; and her sister, Barbara Lester. Her legacy of love, song, and adventure lives on through her surviving family: her daughter, Kim Reasoner; her son, Phillip Reasoner and wife, Monica; her two cherished grandsons, Wyatt Schmidt and Beau Schmidt; her dear sister, Betty Cook; and she also leaves behind a host of extended family members, choir friends, and loved ones who will forever miss her spark.
