Fire crews help people escape homes near Plano as floodwaters endanger homes – Shaw Local

As storm waters continued rising, first responders were able to help residents safely escape their homes south of Plano in Kendall County.

First responders rushed into the waters early Sunday morning near Hale and Needham roads.

A call came in reporting water encroaching on the homes with multiple people needing to be rescued, according to a news release by the Little Rock-Fox Fire Protection District.

When Little Rock-Fox Fire crews arrived at the scene, people needed to escape multiple residences.

“Crews arrived on scene to find [the] roadway submerged with water and water moving, elevating to a swift water rescue situation,” the fire district said in the release.

The crews helped people escape from two homes while residents from another area home were able to escape safely without assistance, the fire district said.

Several agencies assisted at the scene including the Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District from Yorkville, the Oswego Fire Protection District and the Plano Police Department.
