LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The City of Lubbock will host a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday morning to mark the start of a road project along Upland Ave.
The event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the northeast corner of 43rd Dr. and Upland Ave.
Crews will close Upland Ave. from 34th St. to 50th St. to widen the road from two lanes to five, including a two-way left turn lane.
Sidewalks, drainage, traffic signals and street lights will also receive upgrades as part of the project.
The work was approved by voters in 2022.
