A fire at a Deluxe Inn hotel injured two people in Third Ward overnight, according to the Houston Fire Department.
Houston firefighters responded to the hotel at 2613 Truxillo Street, where a fire damaged 20 units shortly after midnight Monday, authorities said. A call first reported the fire at 12:01 a.m., and fire crews arrived at the scene in three to four minutes, Sky-Eagle said.

Arson investigators responded to the scene with accelerant canines to investigate the cause, Sky-Eagle said. He added that the rooms’ windows were six feet high, which made it harder to get out.
The number of occupants inside the 20 impacted units was unknown, but Sky-Eagle said HFD contacted the American Red Cross to assist.
