The wait is over for adrenaline seekers on the hunt for their next adventure. One of the most popular parks in Texas has officially become home to the world’s tallest, fastest giga-dive coaster.

Arlington’s Six Flags Over Texas will open its newest attraction, Tormenta Rampaging Run, to the public on Thursday, July 9. The opening follows the company’s decision to push back the date due to testing and commissioning delays. At the time, some fans expressed disappointment with the announcement, saying they had already purchased June entry tickets in hopes of riding it.

But now, folks will be traveling far and wide because it breaks not one — but six — world records. Features of the ride include a 179-foot loop and turns spanning 4,199 feet.

The ride is themed after Spain’s thrilling “Running of the Bulls” tradition. During the event, thousands of people accompany six fighting bulls and six steers as they sprint from the Corrales de Santo Domingo to Pamplona’s Plaza de Toros bullfight arena. It’s exciting and borderline terrifying — exactly like this new coaster.

President of Bolliger & Mabillard, Sophie Bolliger, a consulting engineer and designer of the coaster, previously said that “as the world’s first giga-dive coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run introduces a completely new ride category” to parkgoers.

“This level of innovation sets new standards for the theme park industry, and our company is honored to be part of this historic moment with Six Flags,” Bolliger said.

The carts will soar at 87 mph, making it the fastest dive coaster on Earth, the company said in a news release. Riders can expect several moments of thrills equivalent to those of Spain’s fearless bull runners. According to Six Flags’ website, the other world records it breaks are:

Tormenta Rampaging Run will anchor a new Spanish village at Six Flags Over Texas. The area is decorated with colorful banners and upbeat cultural music. The fictional town, Rancho de la Tormenta, gets its name from the storms (tormentas) that “swept across the plains it occupied, but that soon changed with the birth of a legendary bull that grew to be the most feared and respected animal in the land,” park officials said in a press release. Many of the country’s matadors attempted to defeat him but failed. Thus, the bull became known as “Tormenta.”

Both the ride’s grand opening and the plaza are part of the park’s 65th-anniversary celebrations. Six Flags Over Texas opened on August 1, 1961.
