The university’s top-ranked subjects included: space science, arts and humanities, geosciences, physics, chemistry, social sciences and public health, psychiatry/psychology, mathematics, computer science and materials science.

Those who attend UT can expect a $244,000 return on investment 10 years after enrolling in an undergraduate program, according to a 2025 analysis by Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce. 

The university is second only to Rice University, a private school in Houston, for the highest 10-year ROI in the state. 

The average cost of attendance at the public university is $29,361, and alumni average annual earnings 10 years after enrolling are $78,721.
