FORT WORTH – Jimmy Perry, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home on July 4, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on December 14, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas, Jimmy was a man whose life was marked by service, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. He was the cherished son of Walter and Marceline Perry, who have preceded him in death, along with two sisters, a niece, and a nephew. Jimmy grew up in Weatherford, Texas, where he attended elementary through high school, before embarking on further education at Dallas Baptist University. There, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in law enforcement. Jimmy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962, later continuing his commitment to service in the reserves. His career in law enforcement began as a dedicated police officer in Weatherford, before moving to Irving, and then to Denton, Texas, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Police Chief. Driven by a desire for new challenges, Jimmy transitioned to a career in polygraphy, applying his keen ability to understand people in a unique way. His career then led him to Lockheed, where he worked in document security, a role that suited his meticulous nature and commitment to integrity. A man of deep faith, Jimmy was an active member of the Church of Christ on Springtown Road in Weatherford, Texas, where he was known for his kindness and his ready wit. His ability to connect with those around him was one of his greatest strengths, and he was often admired for his insightful nature and loving demeanor. Jimmy was a devoted husband to his wife, Rhonda, with whom he shared a joyful life of 32 years after marrying on his birthday in 1994. Together, they created a beautiful family, full of love and laughter. He is survived by Rhonda, his daughter Valorie and her husband Mark, and his son Jeff and his wife Rachel. Jimmy also leaves behind his beloved grandsons, granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter on the way. His family circle further extends to his stepsons, Kevin and Jason, and Jason’s wife Catherine, as well as four cherished step-granddaughters. Beyond his professional and family commitments, Jimmy had a passion for TCU football, and he relished the excitement of traveling, even making a memorable trip to California to watch TCU triumph over Wisconsin. Jimmy’s legacy is one of love, service, and dedication. He touched many lives with his warmth and humor, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice in Jimmy’s memory, reflecting his generous spirit and desire to help others. As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, let us celebrate Jimmy’s life and the indelible mark he has left on all of us.
