Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels is responding to fan feedback after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and outlining possible future upgrades.

Whitewater Amphitheater says it is exploring a major redevelopment of its New Braunfels property, including new restaurants, expanded food and beverage options and additional amenities designed to transform the popular music venue into a year-round destination.
The announcement comes a day after the venue’s operating company, Kona Coast Venture Ltd., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in San Antonio. Whitewater officials told MySA the restructuring process will allow the business to continue operating while pursuing improvements to the property and guest experience.

Whitewater revealed it is working with a new group to evaluate a significant redevelopment of the commercial property surrounding the venue. Plans under consideration include renovated commercial spaces, a new restaurant concept, expanded food and beverage offerings and other amenities aimed at making Whitewater a destination beyond concert nights.
The venue is also evaluating opportunities to expand its live entertainment calendar, add more reserved seating and bring a broader mix of programming to its Biergarten.
“Our goal is simple: preserve what people love about Whitewater while investing in an even better guest experience for the future,” the venue said in a statement to MySA.
Whitewater said its 2026 concert season will move forward as planned despite the bankruptcy filing.

“The Chapter 11 process is designed to give businesses the opportunity to reorganize while continuing normal operations,” the venue said. “Our 2026 concert season is moving forward as planned, and our team remains focused on delivering the outstanding live music experiences that fans expect from Whitewater.”
The redevelopment plans come as fans have voiced both support for the venue and suggestions for its future. Following news of the bankruptcy filing, many called for lower ticket prices, expanded programming and improvements to the overall experience.
“I’ve stopped going to shows out there because the prices have gotten way too high,” LuLu Jones wrote. “Up until about 3 years ago I was up there 3 or more times per month during the operational months. The last 2 years I only went twice and this summer I have refused to go at all. You’ve priced out a large chunk of your customer base with those prices.”

Others encouraged Whitewater to extend its season beyond the traditional summer concert schedule.

“Consider staying open all year round, getting all kinds of music, lower prices. So much potential,” Belinda Barboza-Camareno wrote.
Janie Frieberg echoed that sentiment, writing, “Concerts all year! At least from March through November—especially, in the cooler months!! Love this venue!”
Whitewater said it has heard those concerns.
“We also appreciate the thoughtful feedback we’ve seen online. Our fans are passionate, and we take their suggestions seriously,” the venue said. “Whether it’s ticket pricing, artist bookings, amenities, seating, shade, or ways to enhance the overall guest experience, we’re always looking for opportunities to improve.”

While fans expressed concerns about pricing and programming, many also emphasized they want to see the venue succeed.
“Lower prices, better artists, keep the employees, and year around,” Matthew White wrote. “This place is too damn good to fail, just needs to be run the right way! Cheers to many more memories made at the best venue in Texas!”
The amphitheater’s operating company, Kona Coast Venture Ltd., filed for Chapter 11 protection Tuesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in San Antonio. The restructuring process allows the company to reorganize its finances while continuing normal operations, and Whitewater said its 2026 concert season will move forward as planned.
