The North Texas city of Murphy will welcome its first H-E-B on Wednesday, July 22 at 6 a.m., company officials shared on the store’s landing page. Located at 740 E. FM 544, Murphy, TX 75094, the upcoming grocery store will also include a True Texas BBQ restaurant, a drive-thru pharmacy, curbside pickup services as well as a car wash and fuel station.
Murphy is a small enclave east of Plano with a population of about 21,000 residents.
City officials first unveiled news of the grocer’s impending debut in April 2024. Project documents registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in November 2024 included both project plans for the storefront as well as the adjacent fuel station and car wash.
“Murphy has been looking forward to this announcement for years, and to see it becoming a reality is truly exciting.” City Manager Aretha Adams previously said in a spring 2024 news release.
Those filings outlined an approximately 122,174-square-foot store with an estimated sticker price of $53.2 million. As for the neighboring property, H-E-B is putting the finishing touches on a 5,640-square-foot fuel station and car wash site, which features a nearly $3.3 million cost estimation.
