A Dallas police officer was taken to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle collided with the officer’s cruiser during a traffic stop in southern Dallas, police said.
Officers responded about 3:52 p.m. to an assist officer with ambulance call in the southbound lanes of the 6200 block of U.S. Highway 67, according to police.
During the traffic stop, the officer was outside the squad car when an uninvolved vehicle struck it, according to the preliminary investigation. Police said the officer was taken to a hospital for a precautionary evaluation.
Dallas Fire-Rescue also took the driver of the vehicle that struck the police cruiser to a hospital. The driver’s condition was not immediately known.
