Angela Karen Donovan Beeson, 56, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home in Haltom City, Texas, on Saturday, July 4, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, 3 p.m. at Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6852 Baker Blvd., Richland Hills, Texas 76118. Family will be receiving guests one hour prior to the Celebration of Life for Angie. Angie was born on December 16, 1969, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Frederick “Bud” Donovan, Jr. and Patricia Morine Donovan Faires. She spent most of her life in Haltom City, where she built lifelong friendships and devoted herself to her family, students, and community. She also spent summers in Natchez, Mississippi with her father growing up. Angie was lovingly raised by her stepfather, Jerry Faires, after he and her mother were married when she was three years old. A gifted athlete, Angie graduated from high school in 1988 and earned a basketball scholarship to Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. After receiving a medical redshirt, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. Her love of sports and mentoring young people became the foundation of a career that spanned three decades. On March 14, 1998, Angie married the love of her life, Joel Thomas Beeson. Together they built a life centered on family and love. Their greatest joy came with the birth of their son, Donald Bryce Beeson, who became the center of Angie’s world and the source of her greatest pride. Angie began her career as a basketball, volleyball, and track coach at Crowley ISD, where she served from 1993 to 1998. In 1998, she returned to her alma mater, Haltom High School, as the girls basketball and volleyball coach after being recruited by her former coach and Birdville ISD Athletic Director, Willa Gipson. It was a homecoming that meant a great deal to Angie, allowing her to give back to the school and community that helped shape her. In 2001, after the birth of her son, Bryce, Angie made the decision to step away from coaching so she could focus on being a mom. Although she remained at Haltom High School from 2001 to 2004 as a member of the faculty, she was no longer coaching. In 2004, she transitioned to teaching physical education at Mullendore Elementary School, where she remained until 2023. Though she had left the sidelines, she never stopped being “Coach Beeson.” Beloved by students and colleagues alike, she inspired countless children through her encouragement, kindness, advocacy, and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students. Outside of her career, Angie embraced life’s simple joys. She loved scrapbooking with friends, hunting for the best bargains and sales, and making sure Bryce always had the coolest clothes. She enjoyed the occasional round of golf and was an unwavering Texas Rangers fan. As a season ticket holder beginning in 2010, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her beloved Rangers and celebrated every victory with the passion only a true fan could. Above all else, Angie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, coach, and friend. Her generosity, competitive spirit, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for those around her will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to know her. The lessons she taught extended far beyond her gym, touching lives through her compassion, encouragement, and example. Angie was preceded in death by her father, Frederick “Bud” Donovan, Jr.; her mother, Patricia Morine Faires; her stepfather, Jerry Faires; her close friend, mentor, and later brother-in-law, Mike Wood; and her mother-in-law, Margaret Beeson. She is survived by her loving husband, Joel Beeson; her beloved son, Bryce Beeson; her brothers, Chris Donovan and wife, Leslie, of Houston, Jimmy Donovan and wife, Cindy, of Fort Worth; her half-sister, Amy Martinez and husband, Pete, of Fort Worth; her stepmother, Dee Donovan; her father-in-law, Don Beeson; her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Beeson of West Monroe, Louisiana, Marolyn Wood of Cassville, Missouri, Donna Tapscott and husband, Kent, of Hurst, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, former students, and colleagues whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her. Angie’s legacy lives on in the countless students she inspired, the athletes she mentored, the friendships she cherished, and the family she loved with all her heart.
