Police have continued search efforts for an 88-year-old Dallas woman after finding her car over a year after she was reported missing.

Myrtle Polk was reported missing on June 11, 2024, by Dallas police. She was last seen around noon that day, driving a 2004 Black Lexus ES 330 TX LP BV7-K204 in the 1100 block of Indian Creek Trail, according to police.

On Tuesday, a year and four months after she disappeared, police said they found her car in the 5600 block of South Lancaster Road, about two miles away from where she was last seen. Details on the state of the car were not provided by police.

Officers, as well as private search teams, are responding to the area and searching for Polk, police said.

Polk is 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds and is Black with white hair and brown eyes.
