Actor Luke Wilson has had his first child with his girlfriend, Kendall Yates, People reported on Wednesday. Page Six confirmed the news about Wilson, 54, who has worked closely with director Wes Anderson.
The brother of Owen and Andrew Wilson was born and raised in Dallas, and he’s kept his ties to the area. A Dallas Cowboys fan, the Legally Blonde actor has been in multiple films set in Fort Worth, an area the brothers grew up visiting.
In 2021, he starred in 12 Mighty Orphans, about an underdog high school football team from Fort Worth. Three years later, he starred in another feel-good tale, You Gotta Believe, about a Fort Worth Little League baseball team that strove for the World Series.
Ahead of You Gotta Believe’s premiere, Wilson said he still loves Dallas and is even interested in pairing up with another North Texas maverick. In the future, he would like to see the Texas-set novel White Widow adapted for a movie.
“I’d like to pitch this to Taylor Sheridan,” Wilson told The Dallas Morning News, referring to the Yellowstone co-creator. “I mean this guy’s rolling so hard, maybe he’s the guy to get it made.”
Wilson also previously told The News he enjoyed being an uncle to his brothers’ children.
