The state filing outlines a $1.8 million project to renovate and expand an existing building into a fully sprinklered bar spanning roughly 3,823 square feet. Construction is scheduled to begin August 3 and wrap up by February 1, 2027, according to TDLR filings. All TDLR filings are subject to change without notice.
While the company has not formally announced an opening date, an Instagram page appearing to represent the upcoming business has begun teasing the project under the name McIntyre’s River Mill. Posts describe it as “New Braunfels’ newest patio & sports bar on the Guadalupe River.”
Renderings shared on the account showcase a modern-rustic design with expansive outdoor patios, open green space and a spacious indoor bar area, suggesting the venue will emphasize outdoor gathering spaces that complement its riverfront setting.
Founded in Houston in 2016, McIntyre’s has built its brand around the neighborhood sports bar experience paired with large indoor-outdoor spaces, according to its website. Existing locations feature oversized patios with multiple high-definition televisions for watching sporting events, signature porch swings, dog-friendly seating and lawn games. The bar also offers a beverage program centered on beer, craft cocktails, wine and whiskey.
The planned New Braunfels location would expand the company’s Texas footprint, which currently includes locations in Houston, Webster and two San Antonio outposts. It would also mark McIntyre’s first location in the Texas Hill Country.
