A San Antonio man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison on child pornography charges linked to 764, a violent online network that targets underage girls on social media and blackmails them into recording gruesome sex acts.
Alexis Aldair Chavez, 19, was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Jason Pulliam. Once Chavez completes his prison term, he will remain on supervised release for the rest of his life.

After handing down the sentence, Pulliam told Chavez that his conduct was deserving of the maximum possible prison term of 60 years – 20 years on each of the the three counts that he pleaded guilty to in December. In addition to prison time, Pulliam ordered Chavez to pay $10,000 in restitution to two child victims.
Pulliam told Chavez he handed down the lesser sentenced because of mitigating circumstances that federal public defender David Kimmelman presented in court.
Kimmelman said Chavez began drinking alcohol at 12 years old, wasn’t required to go to school, and with no structure, “he didn’t have normal things kids need to develop.”
“He avoided his parents because of extreme drug use and violence in the home,” Kimmelman told the court. “He was given a phone, a computer and access to the Internet.”
Kimmelman said Chavez “stumbled upon” a Telegram account that led to 764, and said he was targeted by its members who lured him into a sense of belonging within the group. The Department of Justice describes 764 as an international criminal organization involved in “nihilistic violent extremism.”
Court documents say members of 764 force children into producing videos of online content that involves child sex abuse and “gore material” that authorities describe as self-mutilation, abuse of siblings, mistreatment of animals, suicide and other acts of violence.
One child was forced to set herself on fire and record her skin burning, according to court documents.
Chavez killed his own cat and recorded the incident for others to see so that he could gain access to 764, according to court documents.
“In 36 years, this is the most egregious, heinous type of crime that I have ever seen,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Roomberg told the court.
Chavez was arrested in October 2024 and was initially charged in an eight-count federal indictment with distribution and possession of child pornography involving young girls in incidents that occurred from May 2022 through July 2024, according to court documents.

Chavez’s charges were later revised to one count of racketeering, one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. Chavez pleaded guilty to the charges on Dec. 19.
Following the sentencing, Chavez’s mother abruptly left the courtroom and began sobbing and cursing outside the court. The outburst caused several U.S. marshals and security officers to gather on the second and first floors of the U.S. Courthouse. She later collapsed and was carried out of the courthouse.
