LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A woman was arrested Thursday after the U.S. Marshals Service located a missing 12-year-old Lincoln boy in Texas.
The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) took a report regarding the missing boy on June 26. According to the boy’s mother, he went to a friend’s home and never returned.
Authorities conducted interviews over the next several days and learned that the 12-year-old possibly traveled to Texarkana, Texas, via bus with his friend and his friend’s mother.
On July 9 at noon, the U.S. Marshals Service, with help from Texas and Arkansas law enforcement agencies, found the missing boy, his friend and his friend’s mother.
Authorities arrested Tracy Riley, 49, on suspicion of violating custody and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
LPD said arrangements are being made to reunite the boy with his family.
