A handful of new restaurants and bars are already working to fill vacancies at San Antonio’s Pearl, and one of those projects has just taken a major step toward launching at the culinary hub.
Back in May, we reported that Bludorn Hospitality Group, known for Houston restaurants Bludorn and Navy Blue, would take over the historic Liberty Saloon building, which was most recently home to Carriqui. At the time, few details were available about what the restaurant group would develop in the iconic space, but a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) clued us into a few tentative specifics.
The TDLR project details page for the incoming concept lists the name Bludorn Pearl, which may indicate that the developing restaurant seeks to emulate its Michelin Guide-recommended predecessor, Bludorn, from Houston. The scope of work for Bludorn Pearl will include new light fixtures and finishes, and the bar inside the building will be relocated on the property.
Construction is expected to begin on July 13, with a projected completion date of November 30 of this year, according to the TDLR page. The estimated cost to bring this new vision to life inside the Liberty Saloon building is around $640,000. Carriqui was the previous tenant at 239 E. Grayson St., where it served Texas-inspired dishes for three years before shuttering in October 2025. The new occupant, Bludorn Hospitality Group, operates three Michelin Guide-recognized concepts: Bludorn, Bar Bludorn and Perseid.
