TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – A man accused of firing a rifle and hitting a marked patrol vehicle in Marion County has been extradited from a Louisiana prison to face charges in Texas.

Robert Paul Landrum, 49, was held Friday at the Marion County Jail on bonds totaling $2,250,000 for warrants charging him with three counts of aggravated assault against a public servant.

On June 24, Marion County deputies were called to a domestic altercation around 7:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of Highway 49.

After authorities arrived, investigators said a man, later identified as Landrum, refused commands to drop his guns. When he raised the weapons toward officers, a Marion County deputy fired and struck him.

Landrum was taken into custody and flown to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, the sheriff’s office said.

Texas Rangers were requested and continue to investigate.
