North Texas native Kelly Clarkson will return to the stage this week, three months after postponing her Las Vegas residency because her ex-husband was ill.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” the singer wrote on social media in August. She shared two children with her former partner, Brandon Blackstock, 48, who died of cancer the day after her announcement.
Clarkson, 43, was born in Fort Worth and grew up in Burleson, rising to fame as the inaugural winner of American Idol in 2002. After her recent hiatus, she came back into the public eye in late September, when the seventh season of her daytime talk show premiered.
She will perform at Las Vegas’ Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Nov. 7, the first of four “Studio Sessions” concerts scheduled this month.
News Roundups
New dates for “Studio Sessions” have also been added for next summer, when her residency will run from July 17 to Aug. 15.
