Walmart opened another site in Dallas-Fort Worth — and it’s on the northern edge of the region again.
The massive retailer began welcoming customers to a new store in Melissa on Wednesday, which is located near McKinney. The new store opening near McKinney follows the opening of a site in Frisco a matter of weeks ago near University and 423.
The new Melissa site covers over 170,000 square feet at 1950 McKinney St. The store held the grand opening Wednesday with various event, as shoppers lined up early to get a look at the new attraction.

Walmart is putting more resources into the region with updates to existing stores, including drone deliveries, along with new locales, as it looks to compete with rivals such as Kroger, Target and H-E-B.
