WINNESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against an Iowa man who allegedly assumed the identity of a Texas resident.
30-year-old Fabian Barrios Gonzalez is charged with identity theft and had a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear.
The Midland Police Department in Texas contacted the sheriff’s office to help with the investigation. The sheriff’s office served a search warrant at Gonzalez’s residence on Evergreen Road in Decorah.
Gonzalez remains in custody at the Winneshiek County Jail.
