Another familiar face is leaving KPRC 2’s Houston Life. After four years on the lifestyle program, Melanie Camp is saying goodbye to the show.
Camp’s last day at the station is Friday, when she’ll host Houston Life alongside correspondent Lauren Kelly.
“After an incredible chapter, I’m taking off on a new adventure,” Camp said. “Thank you for every story, every invitation, and every warm welcome along the way.”
Camp said one of her favorite parts of the job has been meeting Houstonians and sharing their stories.
“Thank you to everyone who welcomed me into your business, homes, events, and communities,” Camp said. “It’s been such a privilege.”
Camp joined Houston Life as a reporter in 2022 after moving to Houston from Buffalo, N.Y., where she had co-hosted WKBW-TV’s lifestyle program AM Buffalo since April 2020.

The Australian native’s path to Houston television has spanned radio, acting and journalism. According to her KPRC biography, Camp appeared in school plays alongside the late Heath Ledger before pursuing an entertainment career. Her acting credits later included a small role on the HBO series True Blood.
Camp got her start in media as a DJ at a small radio station in the Australian outback before making the jump to television. She later spent several seasons as a correspondent for a lifestyle program in her hometown of Perth, Western Australia.
After moving to Los Angeles, Camp worked as a reporter for the Venice Beach community newspaper Yo! Venice. There, she chased breaking news by following LAPD helicopters in the early morning hours in hopes of getting to stories first. That unconventional path eventually brought her to Houston, Camp recalled in an emotional Instagram video shared overnight.
“Yo! Venice led to AM Buffalo, led to Houston Life,” Camp said. She described her four years on the KPRC program as her “dream job” and said she had once wondered whether she could handle daily live television.
“And I did it. Live TV. Daily live lifestyle TV. It’s a fun gig, and I’m so grateful to have had it,” Camp said.
Now, Camp said she feels “safe and secure enough to launch into what’s next.”
Throughout her career, Camp has also earned five Telly Awards for her work.
Camp did not reveal her next move but told viewers they can follow her next chapter on Instagram at @themelaniecamp.
Her departure comes months after former co-host Tessa Barrera left Houston Life in March 2026 following three years on the show.
