The filming is scheduled to happen on the portion of SMU Boulevard where the university’s fraternity houses are located. The street from Airline Road to Bush Avenue was closed from 2 to 4 p.m Sunday.
Hillcrest Avenue, from Daniel Avenue to Lovers Lane, was also closed Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., with detours to allow access to Snider Plaza.
One lane of Hillcrest Avenue closed Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tony Scalia, a nearby resident, said he spoke with a security guard during the filming Friday, who said Samuel L. Jackson was shooting inside Bibbentuckers, a dry cleaning store. Bibbentuckers had a new sign on Sunday that said “Sunset Dry Clears” for the filming.
“It’s disruptive from a traffic perspective, but in terms of bringing people into the area, I think it’s a good thing,” Scalia said.
The city of University Park notified residents Thursday that various road closures would occur on July 10, 12 and 13 due to filming from an external production company, according to a Facebook post from the city.
Frisco King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson), a hitman introduced in Season 3 of Tulsa King, as he relocates to Frisco to build a new life and criminal operation. Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney has described the series as a fish-out-of-water comedy.
Frisco King recently filmed in Highland Park Village on May 27. The show has appeared across North Texas since March, filming in Fort Worth and Southlake, where it also closed roads.
The show is seeking extras for different areas around North Texas.
